What the Service is
The Devon Parent Partnership Service is an impartial, independent and confidential service. It is for parents and carers of children 0-19 years old, who are concerned that their child may have learning, health or social care issues that may be hindering his or her educational development.
The Service is free.
Who we are and what we do:
We work closely with the Local Authority, schools, health, social services, other agencies and the voluntary sector.
We offer training opportunities for parents and professionals.
What can we do?
Inform:
- about Special Educational Needs
- about the full range of options available
Support:
- at meetings with schools, the LA & other professionals
- with writing letters and filling in forms
- with listening to your concerns
- in finding the right person to contact
- in contacting voluntary and other services
Train:
- parents/carers, school governors, learning support assistants in statutory procedures and general information
